I will be doing a LIVE update on Kickstarter with my enabler Oliver Wellington (and maybe a few special guests) this Monday (4/23) at 9pm Eastern. If you have a question about the dice or want to see how they can be used as a drinking game, be sure to tune in and join us. And lastly but perhaps more significantly, we have just signed up with BACKERKIT, a service that integrates seamlessly with Kickstarter and helps creators communicate with backers and fulfill orders. Specifically, Backerkit allows each backer the option of choosing "Add-ons" in an intuitive way that Kickstarter does not. For example, the pledge level called "Make-a-Teacher's Day," which had to be discontinued, will RETURN as a standalone add-on so that—regardless of the backing level you have chosen—you can also spread the love as many times as you want if you're feeling magnanimous when you fill out your backer survey. This is wonderful news because we have a list of 1,500 teachers who have been actively following the project for over a year but have received nothing so far!

Watching this 90-second testimonial from Prof. Sam Pierstorff makes me glad we did NOT CHOOSE to develop Metaphor Dice first as an app or website. Granted, those projects will have their own benefits, but (as my sister-in-law remarked once while her three sons took turns rolling the dice after dinner one night), "The world doesn't need another app. We need more of this!" Pierstorff speaks to that rare, tactile quality of the dice here—the haptics of creativity—and ends with a "short little ditty" of his own about how "HAPPINESS is a BRIGHT PARTY CLOWN."

To manage this, we have locked down all of the Early Bird backing tiers and replaced them and many of the other tiers with simpler levels that have more accurate shipping information incorporated. THERE IS NO NEED FOR YOU TO DO ANYTHING. You don't have to switch backing levels, update your amount pledged, or anything else if you don't want to; everything ordered so far will be honored as is. That said, there may now be some new options available (especially to backers outside of North America) that might make editing your pledge tempting. Here is a summary of the new backing tiers:
If one of these options looks attractive to you, then by all means edit your pledge (it's easy). But note that none of the options above will arrive by June, and once you have switched it will likely be impossible to switch back. Carry on with your day!
