Hello, Metaphorical Backers!
Here is a photo of the last six sets of the initial batch of Metaphor Dice, the ones we sometimes called the "final prototypes." Anyone who backed us at an Early Bird level had that order fulfilled with these sets. We had some sets left over, so we filled a few other orders with these as well. And the free sets that everyone bought for other teachers (the "Pay It Forward" level) were also fulfilled with these sets. I could easily find homes for theses six sets, EXCEPT we have a photoshoot scheduled next week for the website, and something tells me it might be a good idea to have some inventory around for that.
The next order is being finished up at the factory in China right now and should be on its way in a week or two. This is 2,000 sets of the best dice we've ever made, with color directions, a few new words, and a box featuring photos that actually resemble the dice on the inside! It never occurred to me how difficult it would be to have the photos on the outside match the product on the inside (because the packaging is always one iteration behind the product!).
All remaining orders yet to be fulfilled will hopefully be sent by the end of August or the beginning of September, which is almost a month earlier than promised. Then we focus like a laser on the website and getting the dice onto Amazon. Do you have a blurb you'd like us to consider using on our website? After school begins and you have a chance to actually use the dice in a class, if you discover you have something nice to say about the dice that would help us sell some sets to some other folks, drop us an email at [email protected].

Although we have almost 100 backers whose Metaphor Dice will not be sent until September/October at the earliest, Oliver and I have sent out over 300 sets since the end of the Kickstarter campaign to all Early Bird backers. Well, almost all!
There are still 16 folks who have not completed & submitted their "backer surveys," and some of them are Early Bird backers! Those folks might be sitting at home thinking, "I wonder where my Metaphor Dice are?" without realizing that I have no idea where to send them! If your name is one of these 16, then the ball is in your court!
To be clear, some of these folks are not Early Birds, and I won't actually be looking to send them anything for another two months! But about half of them ARE Early Birds, and I want to send them their sets before I accidentally do anything else with them!

There are only 19 Early Bird orders left to send out, but I don't know where to send them because those backers have not answered their "Backer Surveys." I suspect much of the problem might rest in the fact that it is called a "survey," which just sounds like an optional customer service type of thing that should be deleted without even being read!
But I got a glimpse into something that might end up being a bigger problem today. Many folks took advantage of an add-on called "Make-a-Teacher's Day," in which they gifted a set to a total stranger. Basically, they buy the set, and I ship it to a teacher on a special list I have. This morning, I ran a report to show me how many folks purchased ONLY that option and nothing else, and I discovered six folks fit those criteria. But after speaking to a couple of them, it became clear they were not clear on what they were purchasing with that option!
So I have renamed that option "Pay it Forward," and changed the graphic to this:
With any luck, this will make it clearer what a mitzvah they are actually doing!

Here is what I've been doing in the last two weeks:
If you know me, you know that I LOVE mailing things! So these last two weeks have been particularly satisfying, particularly printing labels. Watch this video about it:
If you were an Early Bird backer, you have likely already received your set(s) or they will arrive this week (so long as you returned your survey). If you backed at one of the other levels, it'll be another couple months but your sets will have benefited from all I've learned to this point!
